Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney is Disney's answer to nighttime entertainment for older visitors. Back in the early 90's Disney realized that it needed to find a way to keep people busy after the parks close and to draw more twenty-somethings to WDW. So from those roots Downtown Disney came into being and has been growing ever since. The concept has worked out so well that there is going to be a Downtown Disney at Disneyland.

Downtown Disney consists of three distinct districts. The first is the original Lake Buena Vista Marketplace. This area consists of the marina and several shops. The largest Disney store in the world, The World of Disney, is located here.

Next to the Marketplace is Pleasure Island. By day this section is a shopping center, but at night several nightclubs open appealing to various music and comedy tastes(note the night clubs will all be closing forever on 9/27/08).

The third section is the West Side. This is the newest section and consists of several restaurants, shops, DisneyQuest, and Cirque Du Soleil.
