I had the opportunity to play around with a fun app for the iPhone/iPod/iPad title Animation Trivia: Disney Edition. This easy to use app is sure to put your Disney animation Trivia knowledge to the test.
Nuts & Bolts:
It spans the first 50 films from Snow White through Tangled. It features over 1,000 questions and 200 true and false questions divided into easy, medium and hard levels. There are three types of questions, multiple choice, fill in the blank, and true/false. Scroll down the page for sample questions of all three.
There are three game modes,
- Straight Ahead: which just keeps asking you questions with no time limits. It tracks the number correct/incorrect.
- True/False: much like straight ahead except it is limited to true/false questions. It tallies the number you have correct/incorrect too.
- Sweatbox: In this mode you have 20 seconds to answer a question. You earn points based on how quickly you answer correctly. Once you get three strikes (incorrect answers) the game is over. The system keeps track of a high score for each level of questions.
The Geek's Thoughts:
This is a slick trivia game that is somewhat addictive for us Disney geeks. I am not the biggest movie trivia buff but was able to hold my own with these questions (at least the easy and medium ones). I enjoyed goofing around and challenging others to the sweatbox version of the game. I played on an iPad and encountered no real problems, except the usual where if it is an iPhone/iPod app it is small and you cannot rotate it. Since I am also a numbers geek my one wish would be for it to do more statistics on your play and have the ability to change players/etc.. it would be fun to compete on a larger scale with others.
The extra bonus of a complete Disney Animated Movies list that is current through Winnie the Pooh this summer is fun to quickly reference a release year.
